Non Accidental Death (NAD) Defined and Clarified
NAD applies to the death of a company or contractor employee where the death was not work related, but occurred in the work environment or at employer controlled accommodation. Such a death arises from a suicide or a medical condition, and can only be declared a NAD if investigation rules out any company or system related cause.

Produced by the ADNOC GHSE and Training Team (primarily for Occupational Health and Medical Physicians), a copy of the NAD investigation course was submitted to the Institute for pre-approval assessments. Following assessment, desk top reviews, and feedback from reviewers who attended pilot deliveries of the course online, it was approved subject to the normal IIAI requirements of periodic review and assessment.

The Institute is committed to the furtherance of Industrial Accident Investigation as a unique and distinct discipline supporting the International Risk Management process.
