Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Consults IIAI
In January 2005, the Technical Affairs Committee of UK based Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) approached the Institute for assistance during the preparation of accident investigation guidance for the IOSH membership.
The Institute formed a temporary SIG committee (in accordance with Article 2/25) comprised of three IIAI Fellows who were also IOSH RSPs (later Chartered Members) to offer comments on drafts and final version.
August 2005: First draft “Responding to serious occupational accidents and ill health“.
March 2006: Second draft “Responding to serious occupational accidents and ill health“.
May 2007: Final version “Responding to serious occupational hazardous events“.
The Institute was delighted to be able to assist IOSH during its lengthy consultation period and trusts that the drafting process proved valuable to them. ‘A very worthwhile document’ eventually resulted for IOSH and it was clearly an overdue exercise that was neither easy nor straight-forward for them.
Mission Statement
The Institute is committed to the furtherance of Industrial Accident Investigation as a unique and distinct discipline supporting the International Risk Management process.
