2012 IIAI Executive Committee Fellowship Lectures

This year's lectures took place on the 20th June at the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel and were hosted by the Babcock International Group. Cliff Jones, SHEQS Director for Babcock Critical Assets, got the evening underway before handing over to master of ceremonies, Dave Yeaman.

The first speaker of the night was Mike Flannery who presented a talk on the UK Health & Safety Executive's (HSE) soon to be implemented charging scheme or Fees for Intervention initiative.

A highly informative session, Mike identified how the scheme would likely materialise and the revisions to procedures that most businesses would need to adopt in order to reduce the size of the fees that could be levied against them.

Next up was Phillip Martin with a talk entitled "Causal Enquiries and Commonsense". Phillip's talk lead naturally into the next speaker's (Paul Difford) session and both were extremely well received; producing, as did Mike's, some lively question and answer sessions. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any detail on those talks at the moment as they form part of other sessions scheduled to be delivered this year.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all and the Executive would like to extend its thanks once again to Babcock International, Cliff and Dave for their hospitality.
